Spring Hill's Community Theater

Volunteer Opportunities

For all volunteer inquiries, please contact Laura Holderman.

Box Office / Concessions

Our front door greeting crew, these volunteers manage the money swaps, help our guests to their seats and are the first face some see with Old School Theatre.  Box office staff must be at least 18, ushers of all ages are welcome to bring their smiles and join us.

Production Crew

Have you ever wanted to be a ninja- or at least dress like one?  Bring your black clothes and join us backstage and in the house and work with lighting, sound effects and set and prop control.  There’s always something to be done before the show opens and after it closes each performance, but there’s also plenty of fun to be had during the show when prop and set changes occur!

Set Construction

Our set crews literally set the stage for our productions.  Have you ever wondered how those full-village scenes occur and just what changes when that one piece turns on the stage?  Come help us during the construction phase of production and watch how proper planning, creative use of materials and a few random bits create a town, a home, a city or more!

Costuming

Have you ever dressed up for Halloween?  Do you remember that feeling of becoming BatMan or WonderWoman that year you were seven?  Come help support those transformations on our stage by assisting in costume construction.  Learn the difference between dress-making and costuming.  Help these characters come to life with the brilliant use of swatches and threads!

Make-up

So, just how DOES that teenager look 80?  How does that usually timid guy look so intimidating?  Stage makeup isn’t all special effects, but there are many tricks to be learned.  Take someone from everyday to dramatic with a few swipes of black dust or  create a whole new appearance with a spatula.  No, not really, but makeup makes the difference in seeing features and expressions even when you can’t tell the actors are wearing any at all.  It’s a vital part of most any show, so come see what there is to learn about putting on a theatre face.

The “Street Crew”

Our street crew hits the city streets as our outreach team.  We always like to have hands and feet to hang posters, distribute flyers, tell the citizens about our season and special events.  We couldn’t survive without our community, and we couldn’t survive without those willing to step out there and share our news with all they meet.  It’s fun, friendly and fantastic!  Join us and shake a hand or two (even kiss babies if you’d like) and help show our community the face of fun and fantastic entertainment right here under their noses!
