What is an “Old School Theatre Player?”
The Old School Theatre Players is the name for the volunteers at Old School Theatre. The volunteers of a theater company represent the foundation upon which any and all achievements are realized. They are the “do-ers” that execute the vision of the company and the clearest indication of a theater’s success and acceptance in their community. A vital and committed body of volunteers helps support Old School Theatre.
How do I become an Old School Theatre Player?
Join in where you think you would like to help. That’s it. There are always opportunities to enjoy the different aspects of the theatre experience: Onstage, backstage, Box Office, usher, costumes, props, the business end of it, the creative side, and that’s just to name a few.
Participation
In order to maintain membership, individuals must accumulate 4 points per season by participating in the areas listed below:
- Be cast in an OST production—2 points
- Direct or Assistant Direct an OST production—2 points
- Serve as crew (set, props, costumes, lighting, makeup) for an OST production—2 points
- Assist in set up, teardown and staffing for a community event (business expo, Ham Festival, etc)—2 points
- Assist in building a set or striking a set for a production—1 point
- Assist the Box Office (ticket window, concessions, or usher) for a production—1 point

Upon acceptance into the OST membership, an individual is entitled to:

- 20% off all tickets purchased for your immediate family
Purchase of Old School Theatre Players “Garb”
Purchase official Old School Theatre Players T-Shirt, Hoodie, Jacket, Tote-Bag, etc. Discounts on other Old School Theatre gear. Orders will be placed throughout the season.
Listing on the Website
The membership roster will be proudly displayed on the website, with sincere appreciation for their dedication and support.
Membership Updates
Members will have the “inside track” on developments within Old School Theatre. New board members, policies, events… anything that relates to our growth and development will be delivered to the Players. First!
Membership Celebration
This is an annual event in the spring which will be open to members and a guest. It might be a dance, a picnic, a concert…We don’t know yet, but it will be a great time!

Simply fill out the Old School Theatre Player application to let us know about you and where you would like to participate. We will match your interests to the perfect spot for you to help. As soon as you have accumulated the 4 points for membership, we will alert you so you can begin to enjoy the benefits of being an Old School Theatre Player! And we hope you will have had so much fun that you will continue to volunteer and bring in new Old School Theatre Players.
