Old School Theatre holds auditions on a per-show basis throughout the season.
Our auditions are open to all in the community. No experience is necessary to audition. Please note that auditions are held at the theatre, located at 1220 School Street in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Please check this page regularly for upcoming audition dates and times. Audition information will also be posted in local papers and in our monthly emails. Please sign up for our Email Newsletter and make sure you include your email address.
All roles are available to anyone in the community.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (full-length version) adapted by Joe Landry from the screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling
Five actors create more than fifty memorable characters to bring to life Frank Capra’s beloved film. This unique stage adaptation is performed as a radio play, broadcast on Christmas Eve, 1949. Everyman George Bailey gets the chance to see what the world would be like if he’d never been born.
Roles are available for two females and three males 16 or older, each of whom will play multiple characters. We will also be casting a live foley artist. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
The Music Man

Plot synopsis: An affectionate homage to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.
Roles are available for all ages. We encourage families to audition together. For a cast list please see The Music Man page.
Auditions will consist of 3 parts: Singing, Dancing and Reading. During the Singing and Dancing portions, all those auditioning will be taught a song and a dance which they will then perform. The Reading portion will consist of cold readings from the script.
