Spring Hill's Community Theater

Old School Theatre is always looking for volunteers

Old School Theatre is always looking for volunteers

Old School Theatre is looking for volunteers from our community to get involved at all levels of production.  Experience is not required, just a willingness to pitch in and learn.  We are looking for people in all areas both on and off stage as we continue to grow.

Box Office / Concessions

This is a vital part of the theater experience… making sure the audience gets their tickets and finds their seats in an efficient and courteous manner. Box Office volunteers are the ambassadors to our community, greeting audiences and ensuring that their theater-going experience is as pleasant as possible.

Production Crew

This is where the real “theater magic” happens. Lights, sound, props, fast costume changes… none of this happens without a capable and committed Production Crew. Volunteers will get a true backstage experience and learn many tricks of the theater trade. It ain’t always pretty, but it’s always fun!

Set Construction

How do you build a Victorian living room or a medieval castle with $200, some wood, a little fabric, and 3 cans of paint? Through the resourcefulness and wizardry of the set construction crew, that’s how! Set Construction volunteers will discover how to build facades and structures to dress the stage for a full theater production.

Costuming

Ask any actor and they’ll tell you that putting on their costume is like putting on their character. Whether it’s a Shakespearean tragedy or a Victorian farce, Costume Volunteers are a critical part of transforming the performers and transporting the audience to wherever the show needs them to be. Costuming Volunteers will learn sewing techniques, how to accessorize and accent, and the timeless craft of turning simple materials into theater gold.

Make-up

You never noticed the actors had make-up on? That means the Make-up Crew did their job well! Every show requires actors to wear stage make-up to ensure they look as old, young, exotic, or ordinary as their characters are supposed to be. Make-up volunteers will help the actors apply their unique make-up scheme and learn valuable tips on creating a good “theater face”.
